Your profile contains your personal settings -- name, email, password, and timezone. Getting your timezone right is especially important because it affects how report submissions are tracked.
Accessing your profile
Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner of the app, then select Profile.
Profile settings
You can update:
- Name -- your display name across the app
- Email -- your login email (may require re-verification)
- Password -- change your password
Timezone
Your timezone setting determines:
- Report submission timing -- whether a submission is considered "on time" or late
- Date/time display -- timestamps throughout the app are shown in your timezone
- Report date calculations -- which calendar day a submission belongs to
Setting your timezone
- Click your name in the top-right corner
- Select your timezone from the dropdown
- Save
Timezone mismatch detection
Limitlytics automatically detects when your browser's timezone doesn't match your account timezone. When a mismatch is found:
- A pulsing indicator appears next to your name in the navigation
- Clicking it shows a prompt with your options
Your options
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Update | Changes your account timezone to match your browser |
| Snooze | Dismisses the prompt for 24 hours |
| Ignore | Dismisses until your next session |
Why mismatches happen
Common scenarios:
- You traveled to a different timezone and your device adjusted automatically
- Your account was set up in one timezone but you regularly work from another
- Daylight saving time shifted your browser's timezone
Why it matters
If your account timezone doesn't match your actual timezone, submissions might be counted as late (or on time) incorrectly. For example:
- Your account says Eastern Time (UTC-5)
- You're actually in Pacific Time (UTC-8)
- You submit at 11pm Pacific = 2am Eastern the next day
- The system would count this as a late submission for yesterday
Keeping your timezone accurate avoids this issue.
Best practices
- Update your timezone when you travel -- or let the mismatch detector prompt you
- Don't ignore persistent mismatches -- if you've permanently relocated, update your account timezone
- Check after daylight saving changes -- these can temporarily cause mismatches depending on your region
