The contacts board is the default view when you open Contacts. It gives you a visual overview of your entire sales pipeline, with each column representing a funnel stage.
Accessing the contacts board
Navigate to Contacts in the sidebar. The contacts board loads by default, showing all contacts organized by their current status.
Understanding the columns
Each column represents one of the 12 funnel stages:
- Columns are arranged left to right following the natural flow of your sales process
- Each contact appears as a card showing their name and key details
- Cards can be dragged between columns to change their status
- Scroll horizontally to see all stages
Tip: Use the horizontal scrollbar or drag near the edges of the board to navigate between columns.
Searching and filtering
Use the controls in the top-right of the board to narrow what you see without leaving the Kanban view.
- Search -- find contacts instantly by name, email, or phone
- Sort -- choose how cards are ordered inside each stage:
- Updated date -- contacts with the most recent activity appear first. This is the default.
- Created date -- newest contacts appear first.
- Lifetime value -- contacts with the highest committed lifetime value appear first.
- Alphabetical -- contacts are ordered by name.
- Manual order -- uses the drag-and-drop order saved on the board.
- Sort direction -- click the arrow beside the Sort dropdown to switch between ascending and descending order.
- Filters -- open the Filters slide-over to narrow the board by:
- Hide disqualified -- enabled by default so disqualified leads stay out of the working pipeline
- Source
- Created since
Disqualified contacts keep their original funnel stage, but they are hidden from the board unless you turn off Hide disqualified.
Dragging contacts between stages
To move a contact to a new funnel stage:
- Click and drag the contact card to the target column
- A transition modal may appear depending on the target stage (see below)
- Confirm the transition
If you prefer not to drag, use the Change status action on the contact card. It opens the same transition flow in a modal, lets you choose the target stage from a dropdown, and shows any required fields for that stage.
The status change is recorded in the contact's audit trail with a timestamp and your name.
Special transition fields
Some funnel stages require extra information when a contact moves into them:
Moving to "Offer presented"
When you drag a contact into the Offer presented column, a modal asks for:
- Offer -- select from your active offers, or create a new one on the fly
- Offer price -- auto-filled from the offer template, but you can override it
This information is stored as transition metadata and is used to pre-fill the deal value when the contact later becomes a customer.
Moving to "Customer"
When a contact reaches the Customer stage, you're closing the deal. The modal asks for:
- Deal value -- pre-filled from the last offer presented (if any), editable
- High ticket -- automatically toggled on if the deal value meets your team's high-ticket threshold
- Transaction -- choose "Paid in full" or "Payment plan"
Note: Moving a contact to "Customer" creates a deal. See Closing Deals for more on how deals work.
Creating a contact from the board
- Click the Create button at the top of the board
- Fill in the contact details:
- Name (required)
- Email (optional)
- Phone (optional)
- Source -- where this contact came from
- Note -- an optional initial note
- Click Save
The new contact appears in the New lead column. You're automatically assigned to it.
Admins and regular users can also create a contact from Quick actions in the top-right corner. It opens the same create form without leaving your current page.
Switching to table view
If you prefer a list-based view with broader filtering and sorting options, click Switch to table view at the top of the Contacts page. See Table View.
