Platinum plan only. Custom dashboards are available exclusively on the Platinum plan.
Creating a custom dashboard
- Navigate to Settings > Dashboards
- Click Create
- Enter a name for your dashboard (must be unique within your team)
- Save
Your new dashboard is created and appears in the sidebar navigation alongside the Sales, Financial and Sources dashboards.
The dashboard builder
When you open a custom dashboard and enter edit mode, you get a drag-and-drop interface for assembling your layout.
Key concepts
| Concept | Description |
|---|---|
| Stats | The main content area. Widgets are arranged in a grid with configurable column widths. |
| Insights | Sidebar columns on the left and/or right of the main grid. Great for KPI cards or quick-reference metrics. |
| Categories | Group your stats into labeled sections for organization. |
How to add widgets
- Enter edit mode (click the edit button)
- Drag a stat from the available stats palette into your grid
- Drop it in the desired position -- a placeholder shows where it will land
- Repeat to build your layout
Organizing with categories
Categories act as section headers within your dashboard. Each category contains its own row of stats and optional insight sidebars.
Adjusting the layout
- Column width -- stats can span different numbers of columns (3 to 6 columns visible at a time)
- Reordering -- drag stats to rearrange them within or across categories
- Insights -- drag widgets into the left or right sidebar areas for quick-reference metrics
Limits
- Maximum 50 stats per dashboard
- Maximum 50 insights per dashboard
- Maximum 100 total widgets per dashboard
These limits ensure dashboards stay performant even with complex calculations.
Saving and renaming
Saving
After making changes in edit mode:
- Click Save to persist your layout
- Or click Cancel to discard changes
If you try to navigate away with unsaved changes, you'll be prompted to save or discard.
Renaming
- While in edit mode, click the dashboard name
- Type the new name
- Save the dashboard
The URL slug updates automatically to match the new name.
Viewing a custom dashboard
Custom dashboards appear in the sidebar navigation. Click one to open it. Like the built-in dashboards, they support the period selector at the top for filtering data by date range.
Editing an existing dashboard
- Open the dashboard from the sidebar
- Click the edit button to enter edit mode
- Make your changes (add, remove, or rearrange widgets)
- Save
Deleting a custom dashboard
- Navigate to Settings > Dashboards
- Find the dashboard you want to remove
- Click Delete
- Confirm
Note: Deleting a dashboard only removes the layout. Your underlying data (contacts, submissions, expenses, etc.) is not affected.
Tips for building effective dashboards
- Start with a question -- what do you want to know? Build your dashboard around the answer.
- Group related metrics -- use categories to organize stats by topic (e.g., "Lead Generation", "Revenue", "Team Performance").
- Use insights for KPIs -- put your most important single-number metrics in the sidebar so they're always visible.
- Keep it focused -- a dashboard that tries to show everything shows nothing effectively. Create multiple focused dashboards instead of one overloaded one.
- Review and iterate -- your needs will change over time. Revisit your dashboards periodically and remove widgets that aren't informing decisions.
